I don't see any cars with a 120 VAC sockets pre-installed. Is this due to the danger of AC?
A laptop charger would be fine as it may only use a few amps @ 12v, but don't plan to regularly run high load equipment (like maxing out a 1000+watt inverter or anything), you would need a high output alternator to keep up with the charging or you will kill your battery.
