Perhaps edit post ? They only offer unlimited plans, that's why they came up with the speed limit plan. These are new and interesting times, so we should not assume that anyone's past behaviour will also be that of their future.
You know what has been said about the word 'assume'....
And I see that Acanac agrees, wishes to be clear about their terms, and has edited their earlier post.
Acanac's website still shows what look like previous rates and speeds for Cable, but I have a feeling that the shared page will change when their QC rates are ready, which they said might be this week.
BTW, these cable rates do not help ME, as I am in COUGH-GECO country - or DO they ? WINK, HINT......
Now about removing the incorrect Acanac website rate pages' references to BANDWIDTH and just calling it Monthly Usage - NUDGE, HINT....
'Tis the season for cleaning up websites - and ya know who else's is worse in that regard ?
Their NAME escapes me just now - mayhaps JF can help me with this mental lapse. |

 | reply to wease1 said by wease1:It's Friday. As promised, what do the QC cable plans look like? I think Distributel is going to use Acanac as their low cost Virgin-type plan, considering they are throttled.
So if Distributel is staying unthrottled and Acanac is being throttled, then Acanac will be less expensive.
This way people have a choice of service and/or the price they can afford under the Distributel umbrella. |
|
 | you should note that Acanac are not "Throttling" they are rate-limiting your connection... |
|
 | you should note that Acanac is throttling your connection (they said so themselves), but they call it rate limiting for marketing purposes. |

Throttling is known in public as what Bell are doing, so you cannot call it the same name. By your logic EVERYONE is throttling because they are not giving everyone the max speed possible. |

I think we can talk about throttling when you voluntary reduce a speed.
If its not voluntary then its not throttling therefore maybe just traffic congestion |

flafson join:2003-10-04 Thornhill, ON | reply to BigBenBeaub That may be so but then it's not fair to Acanac. For the past 4 years or so we said throttling when it was forced upon us. And now when it's not forced we call it throttling because it matches the definition better?
Kinda reminds me of 2 toilet seats, one is full of shit and the other is clean. The clean one is Acanac and the filthy one is Bell. Then comes the CRTC and says i think Bell should have the clean toilet seat and Acanac should use the filthy one.
By saying that what Acanac is doing is throttling, you guys are poisoning the well. |
|
 | said by flafson:That may be so but then it's not fair to Acanac. Acanac are the ones who voluntary limit speed so... if they dont want people to call that throttling they should just not limit any speed.
On my end , i don't care what word is used to describe such a thing, i really don't.
I just want the best prices for high speed internet with unlimited included ! And if "Throttling" or "rate limiting" giving me that ... i'm in ! |
