[Troubleshooting] Pantech UML 290L slow downloads

I have a Pantech UML 290L and I am using it with my 2011 MacBook Pro 2.3 gHz intel i5 and I am getting slow downloads with it. As a matter of fact, I am getting slower downloads than uploads. This is in a 4G area (Springfield, MA) and I have full signal strength.
