 | Rapidshare Slow Downloading This may be a Rapidshare issue. During past few days my downloads are very slow on Rapidshare...only about 0.5 MB of a file will download then a big pause...then another 0.5 MB and so on. So a 700 MB file will take forever. Anyone know if this is a Rapidshare issue or a Rogers issue? All other sites seem fine. |
 | Its rapidshare, i've been having the same issue for the 3 days too and i'm not on Rogers |

 | reply to noway1 Rapidshare is doing this deliberately, to limit you to an average speed of 30Kb/s. Best bet to use Mediafire instead. |
 | reply to noway1 Confirmed Rapidshare issue. Happened to me ( and 1000s of others) the last few days .Other sites like Fileserve are working fine. |
 | reply to noway1 Thanks for the confirmations. Was worried it might be Rogers. |

 | Jdownloader isn't able to change the fact that Rapidshare is deliberately throttling traffic. |

 | reply to Ren i cant download anything from rapidshare at the moment it just keeps pausing |
 | reply to noway1 Most file servers like this have slowed to a crawl since the Megaupload takedown and a few others quit at the same time.
The rest are overloaded for free users. Word of mouth quickly spreads on any that have decent speed, and they quickly get overloaded as well. I have tried many and they are all like this. If you find one that isn't, best keep it to yourself.
I could live with slow and the pauses, but even if I let it run for 2 hours it never finishes because at some point it gives up, they would be much better off limiting the amount of free users, rather than try to parcel out bandwidth to everyone. That instead still wastes tons of BW but doesn't actually deliver many complete files. |

Buy an account on one of them and that you way you can almost feel like you're stealing stuff legally!!
I can't believe ANY of these site have lasted as long as they have!! -- The Firefox alternative. »www.mozilla.org/projects/seamonkey/ |

 | reply to OldManRiver Rapidshare is slowing down downloads to make you buy an account. It has always done so. They should have taken down Rapidshare instead of Megaupload. |
 | I think its time to share its time to go p2p, its time to go torrent. |

 | reply to karelem Rapidshare was the best by far. Fast speeds for free users and much more links than any of the others. Big shame |

Re: Rapidshare Slow Downloading Yeah RS is slowing dl/ speed to pre war d/l speeds of 30 kb of your lucky. Obviously they are scared for the FBI coming to them finding illegal stuff. No balls at all at RS . I could d/l to 1.2 MB second . Now the pre war minus 30 kb its not of this time any more. Its all a scam obvious. |
