Is there a way to improve on cinr? Some have told me to run it 30feet up my tree and point it towards the clear tower... I don't mind doin that if it helps a good+%

Sorry, but I have no idea what you're referring to. My point was that Speedtest.net "showed" almost double the speed of my connection versus the JAVA-based indicators (as I wrote above) which are deemed to be more reliable by other users. IOW, my speed is actually around 15 Mbps but Speedtest shows it at 27 Mbps.

It does however feel good to see those higher speeds posted! But, truth is better than fiction, for the most part.

Down ==> 20.24
Up ====> 2.76
I kinda doubt those numbers, but it would be nice... ;-)

I'm guessing backhaul is the limiting factor here? or does the Voyager max out at lower speeds than the home modems, even under ideal signal conditions? And by ideal, I mean that transmit power was often less than 1 dBm.

im confused tho most tutorials and reviews usually comment about these antennas increasing the WIFI signal of the local network.. however im using an apple router for my wifi lan. and disabled the wifi on the actual clear hub itself? will that configuration still be ok? will the antenna just work for incoming signal for towers? i dont really need to extend the "range" of my home network

An directional antenna would make it possible for you to select a different tower that could have less users on it. You need to first check if you have a second Clear tower you have a chance of connecting to. It all depends on tower loading, many are very overloaded with users.
