The opening text is what makes me think there are three factions... just the way kris threw the witches into the intro, makes me think they are in this game.

Accusing you of it is just a joke based on the coincidence of your post, but I thought discussion about it may shed some light on if they are present or not.

I should probably make a general announcement, I told Kris when I agreed to sub that I had time before work and at lunch to participate. I can't guarantee anything else.

That being said, and if you recall, I was worried I would have to quit all together because my company set up a white list to the internet in compliance with some credit card security rule (if a credit card can be processed on a computer, it can not have unfettered access to the internet - I am not sure if this is industry specific or across the board, but that isn't really my story). My work laptop was designated as a non-pay device, so I can still access DSLr from it.... however most of my day I am sitting in front of a desktop, not on my laptop.

So the end of the story goes, I may be on at random times, if I have my laptop handy.

I am not third party, but believe what you will. I can be very valuable to the town, but my role is... odd.

For those inclined...

Dez is referring to PCI-DSS or Payment Card Industry - Data Security Standards. What he's saying regarding unfettered access to the internet on terminals that accept credit cards is correct; considering his job, I highly doubt he accepts CCs at his desk. The fact that his IT company decided to lock all those down under the guise of PCI-DSS, R O F L.

I have the ability to take a payment if you called me... but that in my job, I have only done so a couple of times. As I am not generally talking to customers, it doesn't come up very often
