 | [Internet] Moving Ubee modem to a different room - Brooksville I recently upgraded to rr lightning and wanted to place the modem in a different room for better performance. So my question is can I run both the cable modem and directv from the same coax wall outlet? |

 | from the wall I have a coax cable running to a splitter, from the splitter I have one cable that goes off to the cable modem and another to the directv box. |

 | I have no idea. All it says on the splitter is Genesys II 2 way splitter. |

You are backfeeding 13v to 19v DC into the modem and potentially our network. Please stop, disconnect it and do things right. If you need us to run a new line for you open a direct forums thread with your modem MAC and IP address and I will assist with this. |

 | Unless directv just happen to diplex this line that your using, I Dont see how its working. Even when diplexed properly it still causes unreliable service, You really need to get a seperate line ran to it. |

Correct and I see no reason why the installer would have done this unless he was using both our cable and directv AND since the OP clearly isn't telling us everything OR doesn't know it makes this very difficult. The bottom line is this is not the way I would do things under for a number of reasons. -- ~All truth goes through three phases. First, it is ridiculed. Second, it is violently opposed. | The satellite guys love to diplex into the existing USED cable lines for their service.. One day they will get the memo that it doesnt work. |
