re:Google to launch pilot pay-TV program in Kansas City

Looks like Google is finally stepping in to an area they may not be ready to handle. They have pretty bad customer service with very very few live bodies to handle customer complaints. And providing TV service is a very labor intensive cust svc operation. Is google really ready to deal with the problems?

"pilot" ...another word for "beta". They'll no doubt hand it over to some business entity before it requires them to get "involved" with customers.

Well, there is one thing,.. if they DO it right, they won't have to deal with complaints, etc. I'm hoping google will in fact make this work. The current communication companies are getting far too complacent in their positions and I'd really like to see a provider come in and raise the bar.

Outside of what you said, however, what I see is that really the consumer can be a real a*s when it comes to TV. I'd like to see google deploy their TV, power it with a good network, and apply Amazon.com style customer service. If that ever happened, Comcast, Time Warner, AT&T and Verizon's jaws would have no place to go but down hard on the ground. THAT is what I'd like to see.
