Daytona 500 Audio Low

WTF is wrong with the sound on Fox 5 DC? Watching the Daytona 50 in Calvert County Maryland. The audio must be 10-15db lower than all other channels. It is barey audible and sounds like crap. Watching it in Dolby Digital from a Motorola DVR using HDMI to a Denon AVR 7.1. Same low volume when I use the analog RCA.

Dont suggest changing the audio settings in the DVR. I don't and will never use any type of compression. And the volume level is optimized. I'm not looking for support.

I'd like to know if like this in other areas of the US. Weather it is a national Fox problem, my local Fox 5 WTTG problem, or a Comcast problem.

is the OTA feed the same? are the local ad's at the same volume?

some times local fox stations have issues with a national feed.

Same issue here with Fox 5 (Comcast) in No. Virginia. Using Motorola DVR and HDMI connection to Yamaha 7.1 AVR. 15-20db lower than other channels and commercials are louder. SUCKS!

I'm in Calvert and mine is fine on ch 805. Seems it's a little lower on SD channel 5 though. No add'l audio equipment. Just TV speakers using HDMI cable from a DCX 3400 DVR.

The audio was defiantly -20db before it was fixed.
The volume on My Denon AVR-1912 is usually set at ~37db. When the race started I had to set it at 58db just to hear it.

From weather.com for Daytona Beach:

Rain showers in the morning with thunderstorms developing in the afternoon. High around 75F. Winds SE at 5 to 10 mph. Chance of rain 80%.

Well the race started at 7pm eastern time. No sound problems from what I could tell. Still in shock over the jet dryer fire.
