EMS is paying attention to the engine. Perhaps someone is trapped.

Engine is turned over to the side. FP40 if I am not mistaken. Seems to have hit some some of structure. So it may have travelled off tracks for some distance.

Yes. It's an FP40. The car immediately behind would have been VIA 1 class.

One of the pictures shows the last car well off the tracks and it does appear that the whole train went through a building except for the last car.

Hopefully this consist will not contain any of the newly rebuilt LRC cars (rebuilt in New brunswick).

They would pay attention to the engine because of the fuel in it which could cause quite a bit of a fire. Fuel is in tanks under the engine.

BTW, after the Brighton accident many years ago, many any flaws had been found with safety at VIA and on LRC cars and VIA made a number of modifications to the cars and to personel training.

Will be interesting to see the TSB report on this in a few years to see how the equipment and crew faired after the crash.

Anyone know the exact position of the crash ?

Don't have the exact position but it's near the QEW-403 Junction, apparently behind the IKEA store.

There is zero attention being paid to the fuel tanks. Look at the CTV helicopter video. Attention is being paid to the cab.

Red dot above marks the crash. Plains Rd/King Rd. area.
