Is this a time of day issue or is it all the time?

Holy lag batman, your first hop, not including your router, shows either there seems to be some snr issues, otherwise bandwidth capacity issues in communication with your gateway.

This site has a test for packet loss(line quality test), and if it is worse during certain times of the day then run one when it's not as bad, then late when it is bad.

Maybe the modem is trying to sync into a higher speed, but going into a constant cycle of running into snr issues. I had that happen on dial-up, the 56k kind, and I had to manually set my modem at a lower speed to prevent snr from killing my connection when it kept trying to re-negotiating the connection speed higher. When it rained at one place I had to manually set my modem to 14.4k otherwise my connection, and the phone company didn't care, however with dsl you're actually paying for quality service.

Find a local tech and find out what equipment is serving you.

Complain about the static on the telephone line. Basic telephone service has quality of service standards enforced by the state utility commission while DSL does not. Before you do, make sure the static occurs on a corded phone plugged directly into the Network Interface box on the outside of your house to rule out your interior wiring. If you hear any hum or buzzing noises on the phone line as well be sure to include that in your complaint as well.

For sure bug Frontier about getting the static fixed. That does screw up the DSL service as well when it's occurring. If it helps any, when the static is present disconnect the DSL modem from the line and see if it goes away. If it goes, try another Jack for the modem and see if the static persists upon next sync.

If you could provide the Modem Statistics for the DSL line, that would be appreciated. Just tell us which modem you have if you don't know how to obtain them.

It's because "Nothing is wrong" means in this case, "I don't know what a properly ran network is supposed to saturate to." Links when saturated, even Ethernet and Wireless should never go past 10ms of consistently elevated latency. Any higher means your network is running too far under load and needs addressing.

For your modem, visit »192.168.1.1/htmlV/transtat.asp (which should take you right to the Transceiver Statistics) and give us the displayed results.

Please keep in mind the noise troubleshooting tips I gave as well.

the tech also put in a network ticket... which is surpose to go to his higher up supervisors which are surpose to take alook at it and then find the local ones where i live to fix it.. but he said it could be days.. i also just tried to see if it was a dns problem im as of right now im on google public dns servers
