Losing assigned IP addresses (WRT54G)

Lately, wireless devices at home have had some difficulty accessing
the internet via my Linksys router . Some devices work fine, others
seem to no longer have an assigned IP. usually re-setting the router
solves this, sometimes I also have to reboot the device. I do not
understand why a device may work fine , and then a few hours later lose the IP assignment. Is this due to limitation of my router or do I
need to change network settings some how. It started happening after Christmas when added a few new devices. The household has two desktop PCs using wireless, we have two Iphones using Wifi, 4 laptops, and a Xbox also using Wifi . Is there a limit as to how many IPs a basic Linksys router can issue. ? My router is a WRT54G.
