[TWC] Upload upgrade!!!

Just got upload upgrade to 1.95 Mbps from 784K!

I don't need the extra bandwidth that comes with the 30/5 plan.

This will do just fine! Thanks TWC!!!

After you said that I ran a speedtest. I used to get 10Mbps/512k

Now I am up to 10Mbps/1Mbps. Looks like they gave more on the upstream with double the speed. This is fine for me.

With the upload speed increase, it looks like Verizon FIOS is likely getting more competitive in the market.

Speed upgrades are really nice though and I will gladly take this 512k to 1Mbps improvement.

Very nice indeed.

Hey same here! Thanks you beepen bird.... About time. Was wondering why sites much snappier. Had unplugged modem just the other day rarely do that, so must have kicked in then. No router just direct LAN. Even the download side was faster @16+.
Oh, and the upload part of speedtest began immediately. It used to stall for some long seconds (10+?) before starting. That's on both servers for NY (Manhattan).

No joy here in Mt Vernon yet. Still a pathetic 512.

EDIT: I take it back. Did a total reboot modem & router and now am at 1M

Its working great now. Steady 1MB Upload.

Speed upgrades with the same class service don't come that often from Time Warner anymore unfortunately.

But at least they raised upstream plus no signal interference issues so the noise floor is kept in tact.

FIOS is likely closer to its way here so Time Warner felt due to competitive pressure it better upgrade.

10/1 is really all I need though. 1Mbps is plenty of upstream.

Hawaii has had 1mbps up for over three years now. We had 1mbps up when 5mbps down was the norm. I have no idea why NY has been so slow to upgrade the upload speed.

What I'd like to see is Turbo at 15/2 or 20/2 offered again in Hawaii. I'm not interested in 15/1 but I would upgrade immediately if 15/2 or 20/2 were offered for Turbo.

My guess is it had something to do with network hardware and upgrading it.
