ADSL2+ modem

I have 16 meg dsl from Acanac and have been using acanac aztech dsl605eu. I was planning to get new modem as my old modem hangs sometimes... can you suggest good adsl2 modem? I was thinking of getting Thomson ST516v6 ...

The main problem with the ST516 is that it is one of the most expensive ADSL2+ modems out there. Other than that, I am mostly perfectly happy with mine except for having to buff the power filtering to avoid losing sync from bad power in my apartment.

Another minor annoyance with it is that it runs off 18VAC instead of more common 5-12VDC which makes substituting power bricks less convenient. If energy efficiency/heat is an issue with you, another potential problem with the ST516 is that it feeds its 12V analog circuitry from a linear regulator drawing from the rectified and filtered 18VAC, which makes it run somewhat hotter.

Other than that, I am quite happy with my "improved" ST516v6.

I always install TP-Link TD-8960N units.. It is very reliable.

The speedtouch will work fine but there are other less expensive alternatives.
