Why bother having an FCC

If they have no control? Either they do or they don't and if they don't, why bother?

and they don't. that's the point that these companies are trying to make. Until Congress gives them the power for the Internet the FCC will keep getting sued until the Courts decide to smack the FCC and their leaders for overstepping the guidelines that govern them.

And after all the FCC is the one that ruled that the Internet was an Information service to start off with. Not a communications service- hence- Federal Communications Commission NOT the Federal Communications Information Commission.

The problem I have with this is, they are the FCC, they should already have this power, this is why they were formed. And for the allowment of being able to be sued, is ridiculous.

The Internet is somthing that Congress or any other U.S. legislative body can control or give authority for control over?

That must be a really big surprise to the rest of the developed world

If they are unable to grow a set and put their foot down on this BS, yes, they need to be taken apart.

Yeah, spectrum free-for-all! Whoever builds the most powerful transmitter wins!

Or, roll the FCC's pervue back to overseeing spectrum management.

they were orginally formed for communications services that did not include the internet though. and the FCC decided they did NOT want that Internet as information service back when the X Case was going on with wholesale cable modem services, etc.

and they was talk about gutting them and starting over but yet you get people that complain about that. The FCC has NOT adopted any real rules that could improve communications as a whole so they should go.

They're rulings that did help though; they went back on and it has become just a horse and pony show with nothing more.
