Have you gone down to your local Cox office to see what they have for yourself???

Since (according to Cox's website) they do NOT charge (extra) for HD, why don't you just upgrade to an HD box; they are backward compatible with SDTV's & (site unseen) will be a BIG improvement over that thing you have now!

My relatives in Manhattan KS just got a new DCX3200 for their new flat-panel set for Xmas. I like the fact that this box is made so that it will sit in on it's side (like a cable modem) to take up less space. It's got EVERY output you would need for any TV &/or any other A/V connection. (even S-video)

BS!
cox's "free hd" isn't free, they just stuff it into various other areas.

I wish cox would only charge for a box after the 1st one because it's required for the higher tv packages. Dish does that.

comcast also does that it's included they say in the package

Well yea I figured that; I guess I should put my post in "their (Cox) quotes"...
But still...at least it's ONLY $1 to upgrade to an HD box...probably cheaper than how CC does it below:

Yes, but you DO actually get an HD (non-DVR) box in those "triple HD play" packages. The HD-DVR does cost an extra $8 on top of that.

But otherwise, CC VERY much charges extra for HD channels, & even spells it out on their current price lists; it's now $8.95 for "HD access" - but that DOES also include an HD box on the primary outlet.
