My bill went up all of the sudden!I've been paying $19.95 and now it's $40. Is it still possible to call retention to have it lowered?
If so, remind me the phone number and the process I have to go through. |

Call the number on your phone bill. They might want you to sign a one year contract. Ask for retention dept. |

Don't expect to get the same $19.95 new user rate when you call, but you should be able to get some rate below $40 for a one-year contract. |

Ugh. They declined me, even in the retention dept. They said they don't do that anymore... |

Call back again and talk to someone else. I've found that different agents give different answers. It also could be in how you phrased the question and what you were asking for. |

What should I be asking for? |

Same line they gave me. That's ridiculous. F**k AT&T.
I was able to get a 6 months extension at half price, but after that I will have to re-evaluate my options. There's no way that I will pay $40+ for a lousy 5 Mbps DSL with long ping times. |
