1 edit | As soon as I saw Chrome updated this morning with a new Flash version I checked the other browsers and updated all my Flash.
I added a link for the downloads. »www.adobe.com/products/flashplay···on3.html |

The "regular" D/L link has .63 though:

 | reply to gugarci Thx again "Adobe" for wasting about 15 min of my time. My Adobe go to link was labelled correctly but the actual files had not been updated as yet.

This was discovered only after the usual uninstall & reinstall of both IE & Fx browser versions. Then I had to reset my security settings because these are never saved & then I had to adjust a few other registry settings.
Now I'm back where I started from minus my time! Adobe you're updates are really a PITA most times! |

| It's simple: download one of the installers, then right-click on it and hit Properties, then Details. That will show ya the version.
I always do that before actually installing so I know what I'm getting. --

None of the old (what has become "normal", /flashplayer/current/licensing/) direct download links are (yet?) updated. Here are (some) directly links: http://fpdownload.macromedia.com/get/flashplayer/pdc/11.1.102.63/install_flash_player_ax_32bit.exe
http://fpdownload.macromedia.com/get/flashplayer/pdc/11.1.102.63/install_flash_player_32bit.exe
http://fpdownload.macromedia.com/get/flashplayer/pdc/11.1.102.63/install_flash_player_ax_64bit.exe
http://fpdownload.macromedia.com/get/flashplayer/pdc/11.1.102.63/install_flash_player_64bit.exe
Pay attention to the 32/64 bit & _ax_ or not ... If you have a 64-bit OS, then 64-bit download install both the 32 & 64-bit versions of Flash. If you have a 32-bit OS, you won't be able to manipulate (i.e., open or run) the 64-bit download. Uninstallers: Uninstaller (229 KB):
http://download.macromedia.com/pub/flashplayer/current/uninstall_flash_player_32bit.exe
http://download.macromedia.com/pub/flashplayer/current/uninstall_flash_player_64bit.exe
EDIT: The _ax_'s are for IE, Active-X. The others are for other browsers, Firefox, SeaMonkey, Opera ..., DLL's. |

I download the stub installers (IE + other browsers), run Wireshark, and then each stub to capture the URL of the full packages. I then copy/paste the URL from Wireshark into FF to download the actual installers. A little messy but quicker than waiting for Adobe.

I truly feel sorry for the occasional computer user who wants or needs to correctly update & secure their Adobe FP...
First test grasshopper is to find an Adobe site amongst several that is easy to navigate & has the actual files you need to D/L. Then: 1) D/L the needed browser 32 /64 bit version update/s. 2) D/L the uninstaller. 3) Check the property versions of the D/L file/s making certain the label matched what was actually D/L. 4) Run the uninstaller & recheck making certain your version/s were uninstalled completely. 5) Install the new version/s & run a check to make certain the install/s took. (Thx Siljaline for the reminder, some FP update versions come with a generally unwanted toolbar!) 6) Adjust your privacy settings in the settings manager. 7) Tweak your registry settings for max privacy & security.
Thanks Adobe for making your regular FP updates so easy, intuitive & pain-free. Thankfully I had no need for & was able to chuck your Shockwave Player.
Yes, feeling much better after this rant!
edits: Hopefully made clearer to understand & added to #5. |

angussfPremium join:2002-01-11 Tucson, AZ kudos:4 | reply to therube Unfortunately therube's links are just to .EXE installers, not to the .MSI installers many of us need. The "distribution3.html" page posted above CLAIMS to have the .63 .MSIs but they're binary-identical to the .62 MSIs I already have. Does anyone have links to the .63 .MSIs? |

I'm bolding this for attention. Every Flash upgrade I've done, even in place, the security settings are all set back to "allow" rather than my preference of "disable" for all options. This upgrade was no exception.
Make sure you check and set your privacy settings everyone.
