Yea they knew something was wrong with his salary. You can't pay a QB top dollar with a "?" hanging over your head. Provided be can get back to 75-80% of this former level he'll be a steal for a new team. -- "Every once in a while, declare peace....it confuses the hell out of your enemies." |

| reply to MuDvAyNe I am in no room to say there is or not something wrong with him. But it is hard to be in the position to get a franchise QB. I can't hate the decision for the Colts to shed 28 million and draft 1 of 2 great QB prospects that are looking like they will be franchise QB's. It was the smart move, not the easiest but smart. |

| reply to MuDvAyNe Every team in the league knows something's wrong with him. He's had 4 neck surgeries, and the nerves in his arm haven't fully regained the ability to throw passes the way he did before. He's been "cleared to play" due to his neck, but that doesn't mean he'll ever be able to throw the ball the way an NFL QB has to again. That's why he's not working out publicly, to show his throwing ability now -- he doesn't have his full ability back yet. It may come back and may not. -- hey Dale |

jabarnutLight Years AwayPremium,MVM join:2005-01-22 Galaxy M31 kudos:2 | I agree completely, and you can bet everyone in the league knows exactly what sort of condition he's in, day to day. And with all of my kidding around about him going to the Jets, I still think the right decision may be to retire. But I also firmly believe that Peyton is smart enough to know whatever decision he makes will be the right one. I somehow doubt he would even want to play, if he knew full well he couldn't play to his full potential. Guess we'll all just have to wait around and see what happens. The outcome should be interesting (to say the least), whatever it is. -- I had a life once.....now I have a Computer and a Modem. |

Let's see, another big name whose best days are behind him, will cost a lot of $$$$.....he'll go to Washington. Even if Washington offers him the most guaranteed money, I don't think he'd play there. Their records the last 3 years are 4-12, 6-10, 5-11. The Shanahans are control freaks, and when the offensive coordinator is the coach's son and has already butted heads with one veteran QB, it's only a matter of time until he'd be butting heads with Manning. The Redskins offensive line is pretty porous; actually they just suck. I can see the Redskins bidding for Manning but I can't see him going to work for them. Looks like you are right. Reports are that the Redskins are out of the running.

Been a Jets fan that's what I want to see, on top of all that, both Manning brothers, in the same city in the same stadium, imagine the frenzy!
Get rid of the 2nd stringer and put Sanchez on the bench.

No, to me it's about money, do you shell out, what? $28m and take a chance on Manning next year, or do you say F it, take a hit for a couple of years with the fans and try your luck with a rookie QB? -- No, I didn't.
