Re: Start Communications - new TPIA Rogers/CogecoI read through every single post and even read the link about the differences between the different POI Types but still have one question. Isn't Aggregated POI as used by Start going to be slower than Disaggregated POI? Especially since with a Disaggregated POI there will be more points connecting to Rogers, Bell, Cogeco rather than just one pipe connecting to the main provider.
Correct me if I'm wrong. I'm just torn between Start and Distributel now, especially when I've already ordered Distributel but install isn't until the 20th so I still have time to cancel if Start is better.
Another question, if I do purchase the DCM475 modem from Start, that should still be useable with the other TPIA's right?
Thanks! |

Aggregated POI ride the Rogers/Cogeco network backhaul to each headend. Capacity upgrades should be higher priority since any slow downs effect their own customers as well as TPIA. Overall it's much easier and less expensive to manage. |

That's what I was looking for where I'd be getting the same speeds as if I were with Rogers, which I'm not sure if it's the same case with Distributel. I just hope I don't feel the effects of throttling on the Rogers network. |

Bell turned off throttling at the beginning of this month and Rogers began the process of shutting it down in March and aim to complete it by the end of 2012, but if its turned on again in the future you would be effected for sure |
