Thank the ITU for this
Thank the ITU for doubling back and dumbing down what was supposed to be 4G (IMT-A 1Gb at the tower and 100Mb farther away) into meaning anything mobile providers want it to mean, just as unlimited really means limited. So previously the ITU said none of the carriers have 4G. Then they say that newer 3G is 4G except they still stick to 4G being IMT-A. A marketing windfall for US mobility who can now run SmokeSignal 4G ads.
Perhaps IMT-A should be 5 gazillion G since that is how many name changes marketing goons at mobile providers will barf up during the very long trip to real 4G service.
