iOS 5.1 said it fixed battery life issues. Since 4G phones drain battery faster than 3G phones, I figured the "fix" was to simply label the phone 4G. Problem solved.
In reality though the whole 4G thing is muddled. I've gotten upwards of 8509 kbps on a speed test with my iPhone 4S (though the normal max is around 4 mbps). That's fast, but not as fast as the 24 mbps people with real 4G phones see.
