[iPad] Verizon iPad 3 Hotspot feature FREE» www.theverge.com/2012/3/ ··· =twitterjust saw this on The Verge "Perhaps more notably, Verizon's plans include hotspot service across the board at no additional cost the new iPad supports tethering, so this is something that'll definitely come into play for many users." |

Hrm.. well that really complicates things..
I ordered the AT&T iPad (currently have an AT&T iPad), but Verizon's 1GB plan w/ hotspot is a pretty great deal.. I may have to change my order. |

Decided to change my order based on this.
I personally don't like Verizon Wireless, but saving $60/year + getting mobile hotspot is too good to pass up, even if I lose my $25/2GB plan on AT&T. |

It is pretty sweet of them to do it.
Still, using an iPad as a hotspot is weird. I'd almost always rather have a hotspot on my phone, because I have to have a phone data plan anyway, and I rarely have my iPad and laptop open at the same time. People look at me funny when I have them both on the table.
The only use case i could see is traveling abroad when you've left your locked-to-carrier phone at home. But does a Verizon iPad even work abroad? |
