Confusion! How do I upgrade to MJ plus from old MJ?

Hey guys my old thinclient died hard so now I'm using my old MJ on a laptop. Anyone have any advice on upgrading to MJ plus?

I have been of fan of MJ BTW but now the computer dependancy, well it's time to upgrade.

What's involved, can I keep my number, cost etc.

I've read it involves adding the plus to my account at initial startup.

Google has been of little help surprizingly and I'm generally competant, people usually ask me questions LOL.

I think we need an upgrade guide, the info available is seriously lacking.

How do we upgrade to MJ+ and what's the simplest, best most cost affective way?

Thanks for any help,

See: »magicjack.com/faq/ The info IS in there.

During registration, you can retain your old #, or get a new #.

There IS a caveat: you cannot transfer the purchased time you had with the old MJ. Basically a new account. I believe you can still use your old MJ with the "shared" # until the time runs out. MJ gets away with this by stating they are two totally different products. Maybe someone else can chime in here to verify.

The MJ Plus has to be plugged into the computer for the registration process. Once completely registered, it no longer requires the computer. Just plug it into the power wart, the RJ-11 cable into your router, and your phone into the MJ.

I wish I had researched this before upgrading. It would be nice of them to have a "warning" pop up, letting you know the time doesn't transfer.

Looks like you can transfer remaining time now and also get MJ+ 1/2 price for $34.95.
Received email last night saying they are scrapping the original MJ and wiwith offer for the upgrade and transfer of time.
