| reply to PeteC2 The EA4500 is now for sale on Cisco's website at:
»homestore.cisco.com/en-us/Router···prod.htm
Noticeably absent is the advertisement that was there for the E4200 and E4200v2. I wonder why? -- PR is back in town |
|
 | Maybe Cisco want to promote/sale their new EA product series. On E4200v2 product page, there is a note of newer model EA4500 availibility.
I've a feeling that internal hardware and electronics of E4200v2 and EA4500 are exactly same except the difference of Cloud App support. So it was just a rename of product model with support of Cloud in the firmware. It's good to know that Cisco will be releasing a firmware update to support Cloud App on E4200v2.

|
 | reply to PeteC2 It looks like they dropped the price of the refurbished E4200 V2 to $149.99 and the refurbished E4200 V1 to $89.99 on their outlet site.

1 edit | reply to samurai123 Not sure what to tell you. I've beta tested the cloud app which is available the summer of 2012 and it does work with the E4200v2. Not sure if this is going to change in the future though. According to this report Cisco will be updating the E4200v2 firmware to support all of the EA features. »www.smallnetbuilder.com/wireless···ter-line |

 | I'm looking forward to see the features of EA4500 on E4200v2. I think providing the features on E4200v2 will be a purchase protection to the customers who bought the recently released product and has same hardware/electronics built-in. |

 | reply to Oregonian Hey just a heads up, you can get the EA4500 both online and in the brick and mortar store for $179.99. »www.bestbuy.com/site/Cisco+Links···p=1&lp=1 |

 | reply to samurai123 Looks like Cisco may be using a different CPU on the EA4500 then the E4200 V2. ??
The e4200 V2 CPU = 1.2 GHz Marvell Processor (MRVL F6101AW 1114AA C120)
The EA4500 CPU (from the pics posted on this forum) = MRVL F6W01A1E TW 1151AA C120). |

1 edit | Does anyone know or have specs of these SoCs?

 | Atleast, it seems both SoCs have 1.2GHz CPUs ( C120 ) |
|
 | I'm half asleep, are you saying that the processor speed on the E4500 is 1.2GHz? |
|
 | Anyone know of any DHCP issues. I have had a few DHCP issues with my e4200v1. I would have to set a static IP on my host and come back a few minutes later then I could set it to DHCP and it would finally grab an address. I tried telling Linksys multiple times (after doing packet captures) that there was no DHCP reply message from the router but they didn't want to hear it. Also had some other stupid issues (like Airplaying Pandora to my AppleTv through my iPhone would cause the router to crash).
Thank you |
|
 | I personally haven't had any trouble with my E4200v1, E4200v2, and EA4500, with DHCP or otherwise. |
