Re: [Weather] Canadian weather... Well, looks like the gold pot at the end of the rainbow...
On the other hand, they upped it up!

said by jfmezei:Hey mazhurg,
how are the predictions today ? Still predicting -27 and sunny for the weekend ?
For montreal, wednesday and thursday were to have been great days with sun and +12.
Both turned out cloudy, some rain and temperatures around +5. |

Since you assured us that you are canadian, the thought of you using those ancient US temperatures doesn't occur to me. |

Supposed to be 27-28 later next week. Isn't that when you'll be giving birth ? It is "---" today where I live. Turns out my fancy chinese wireless thermometer worked well with lithium batteries when it was cold, but when temperature hovers around freezing mark, it goes into "---" mode. Speaking of which Shitty Tire has those on sale starting tomorrow. I shall pick one up.
This morning was crazy...thunder and lightning. Only 11 or 12 or so. So I was surprised when it got into the 20's in the late afternoon. Technically, this is still winter. Although technically, one could argue the meteorological is about December 1 to March 1, give or take 1 or 2 weeks. Being we had no winter in December....and none in January or February..and March has been more like May except for the nasty storm last Friday...
Man..no complaints. This has been the best March I've see. I have loved this winter we had. Makes be proud and happy to be Canadian in southern Ontario.
Long range, doesn't look like any below 0 temps for rest of March. I also have seen some tree leave.....this is good. -- If you can't explain it simply, you don't understand it well enough. - Albert Einstein |

Yeah considering our condo was paying $3K / m this "winter" for "snow removal" I think its safe to say our landscaping company made out like bandits (I think they rolled the truck out to us for snow removal maybe three times all winter, if that)

digitalfuturSees More Than ShownPremium join:2000-07-15 BurlingtonON kudos:2 | reply to NefCanuck Yep, during a normal winter, the odds of a snowstorm decline significantly after April 1st, and sun's intensity at this time of year means the snow wouldn't stay more than a few days.
April weather forecast models continue to show above normal temps, and the normal daytime high is 3-5 degrees above zero. -- Logic requires one to deal with decisions that one's ego will not permit. All that is necessary for the triumph of evil is that good men do nothing - Edmund Burke. |

jfmezeiPremium join:2007-01-03 Pointe-Claire, QC kudos:22 | In montreal, we have learned not to underestimate the power of winter to fight back.
It is quite possible that we are still in line for a big snow storm. Sure, the snow won't last long, but it would still be enoug to make everything white again.
If I had a car, I would wait until second week or april to change tyres. |

I hate driving around on expensive winter rubber when temps are pushing 20C.
And even if we do get snow in April, as digitalfutur said it won't stick around too long due to the higher intensity sun. Heck, I remember back in February(?) we got several centimetres of snow one night and the next day the sunny and dry weather all but melted it away in the span of maybe 12 hours. -- "It's all coming down!!" - Mike Holmes |

Funny enough a bad wheel bearing stopped making noise when I put the summers on. I know it's bad still as I checked it when I had the wheel off, but it's not making noise.
That of course means I can wait a while longer to fix it. lol -- Tom |
