RemyM join:2005-02-14 Stamford, CT | Cablevision Fires Up HBO Go, Launches 'TVtoGo' Portal MSO Offers 12 Programming Services to Video Subscribers By Todd Spangler -- Multichannel News, March 14, 2012
Cablevision Systems is now offering video subscribers access to HBO Go and Max Go, and with the addition of the premium TV Everywhere services has launched a "TVtoGo" portal to let viewers access TV Everywhere content.
All told, Cablevision now offers 12 mobile programming services to iO TV digital cable customers, accessible through the TV to Go site at www.optimum.net/TVtoGO. Those are HBO and Cinemax; Turner Broadcasting System's CNN, TBS, TNT, tru TV, Adult Swim, HLN, and Cartoon Network; Fox Sports' Speed2; and Cablevision's own MSG Varsity and News 12.
For Cablevision customers who subscribe to HBO or Cinemax, HBO Go and MAX Go are available on any Internet-connected computer, as well as Apple's iPad and iPhone devices, Android-based smartphones, Roku set-tops and certain Samsung connected TVs.
For in-home viewing, Cablevision subscribers can use the company's Optimum App for iPad, iPhone or iPod touch to watch their full cable lineup -- both live TV and VOD -- over a home Wi-Fi network. The app also includes DVR controls, the ability to search for programming and a remote control for TVs in the home connected to set-top boxes.
Cablevision is allowing subscribers access to HBO's TV Everywhere services through Roku boxes and Samsung TVs, whereas Comcast and Time Warner Cable currently do not. Pay TV providers that allow access to HBO Go via both Samsung and Roku platforms include Dish Network, Cox Communications, Charter Communications, Suddenlink Communications, AT&T U-verse, Verizon FiOS TV and RCN.
To access online, Cablevision's HBO and Cinemax subscribers can go to HBOGO.com and MAXGO.com, or visit www.optimum.net/TVtoGO. Subscribers can then sign in with their Cablevision user ID and password, make their viewing selection and begin watching.

kjharris join:2009-11-25 Huntington Station, NY | Can't log on to HBO Sitting at my computer I just tried to log on to HBO and couldn't. I have the older Optimum Silver package(HBO + Starz). On the HBOGo site, when I try to log in, I get a popup that says "Primary account no yet registered. This is a sub account. To sign in with this account please register the primary account first". I am the primary account and I'm using my Optonline password. Anybody know what's wrong? |
|
 | Call customer service and have them straighten that out. I tried with a sub-account first and got that message. Once I went in with the primary account, it was fine. |
|
kjharris join:2009-11-25 Huntington Station, NY | Thanks, I will contact them--maybe what I think is my primary account is actually a sub account. |
|
|
|
 | The primary account is the one at the top of the list when you look at all the ID's you have for email. |

»www.multichannel.com/article/481···rtal.php I know the TBS app for iPad had a boat load of commercials for every episode you watched. Talking like 5 minutes worth for every break with like 4 breaks per half our episode. Made them basically unwatchable. I stopped using it. I don't know if it's still as bad, or if having to 'sign-in' now will dial back at least some of the excessive advertisements.
Yes, I know it's free. |

GO @optonline.net | Not for nothing but I got a email from Cablevision/Optimum officially announcing HBO/Max GO. So how come when I go to the HBO GO website, neither Cablevision/Opt is mentioned anywhere as a carrier? That's pretty strange don't you think? |

| When I go to the HBOGo site and I click sign up, OPTIMUM, is right there as one of the providers. Not sure what you are looking at when you go to the site. -- Warning, If you post nonsense and use misinformation and are here to argue based on those methods, you will be put on ignore. |
|
GO @optonline.net | First I thank you for replying, if you want to know where I'm going, I'll gladly tell you. I'm going to the FAQ part of the website where it tells you what providers support what feature. As in what providers support HBOGO on mobile devices & laptops/pcs, Roku Players, Samsung Smart TV's and Cablevision/Opt is not listed anywhere among the providers for just about anything.
On the plus side I was watching HBO and I saw a commercial talking about the app coming to the XBOX360! Let's see who winds up supporting that. |
|
 | Click on sign up on the HBO GO main page. You will then have to pick a screen name and your provider. Optimum is listed in the drop down menu. You will then have to sign in with your Optimum Primary ID and your Optimum password. I am sure that CV will support the Xbox App since it is supporting the Roku and Samsung TV Apps. |
|
 | I made a mistake in the order to sign up. You first click on sign up and you will then see a page with all the providers listed. Click on Optimum and then use your Optimum ID and Password. After that is when you pick your screen name.
If you want to activate a device go to »www.hbogo.com/activate/#devices. If the Xbox is supported on April 1 it will be listed there. |
