[General] Dry loops & warm lines

If I get dry loop DSL from AT&T, will it keep my phone line warm for dialing 911?

I would say no. If you are not paying for voice service, than you do not get any voice service. But it is an interesting issue, leaving 911 as the only voice possibility when DSL dry loop would be selected. I wonder if they charge 911 taxes or fees when you have only dry loop, like they do with voice. If they did, then maybe 911 is available.

Out here in CA they do it a little differently I think, when I first got Dry-Line DSL the line did have a DT but ONLY for Emergency services. I dont know if that's still the case.

Yes it is. I have dial tone on a DSL only line for 911 only. Nice to have..
