SPA 112 & 122
I just picked up a few 122's for testing and wanted to share with you guys the admin guide, it's not a provisioning guide but its better then what comes with it.
Overall testing it, and configured it just like the old 2102 and pap2t units is pretty much the same, except I notice the volume is a lot louder than my new 122 units then the 2102, I had to turn down the input & output gains to -6 to sound normal. Everyone thought I was talking really loud since there is a few new things to configure, I found this guide to explain a few things to me. Even thought things like the sip timers have changed from the default for the 2102 units. I haven't noticed any difference yet
$65 is cheap for retail
You can create full profile backups and restore them.
IVR password protect, separate from the admin password
User management section, its about time
SMTP email syslog server, neat feature
Same rated power supply as the old units
remote GUI cannot be turned on unless you change the admin password
overall the stock firmware is crap, cant even load the gui in firefox or chrome, it only works in IE, but the latest firmware fixes that issue. even after the second firmware release, it still have major DNS setting issues & DMTF problems stated in the firmware release.
I also tested the 122 as a router for a few minutes.... and to no surprise my Rogers 75/2 connection pushed only 20-25 mbits downloading. =Fail.
They scraped plain text configs for provisioning in favor of xml profiles, not a fan but I'll work with it.
Overall If they get the DNS & DMTF issues sorted out this will be a pretty good & cheap ATA
TrevIP Telephony AddictPremium
Well, at least 25 Mbps is better than the 7 Mbps that the previous generation supported.
I have a 122 that's still new in box, waiting for it's turn to be evaluated... if it ever gets a chance, which isn't looking so likely given how my testing with the Obihai devices have been so far.

Thanks for the information. I'm hoping by the time I have to buy one of these (if ever) they'll have all the firmware bugs ironed out. It looks like they're getting there.
"IE only?" Did the Cisco developers fall into a time warp?
yeah nothing would load correctly unless I used IE. it was stuck at the Quick setup menu. I'm glad they fixed it in firmware 1.1.0.
what really got me thinking is under Subscriber Information called " Resident Online Number " of coarse with the typical lack of info Cisco! they mention something about Skype and nothing more in the admin guide and that's all.
Cisco should've cleansed the stock firmware before releasing it, but everyone does a piss poor job of making sure their product actual before bring it to market

Just another update.
Well the first one failed after a few days with SPA1xx_1.1.0_011.bin firmware installed. everything was going almost fine when today this POS started to get static/buzzing/feedback on the line & goes away if I power cycle the unit or replace the unit with older pap2t or spa2102
Also MWI is total broken. it cannot be cleared (its noted on firmware info pdf). Stay away from this unit until things improve
thanks Cisco for bringing us the SPA-122, it should not have been released because its now time for RMA
