Re: how close can a cell tower be to a house? Is a DAS more expensive to deploy than a traditional cell tower? I've been told it is but if so, I wonder why it was done here since this neighborhood has plenty of govt-controlled land on which a traditional tower could have been erected. Or maybe I'm wrong - maybe it's hard to get permission to install a tower and, given the lax laws controlling ROW access, a DAS is so much simpler.
Coincidentally, in another area of this same county, the public school superintendent (without approval by the Board of Ed) allowed land reserved for an elementary school to be used as a cell tower site. Now that the Board of Ed needs to build a new elementary school, they're not considering their own land because of the tower! |
