anon posted : IN regards to the ad-hock forum, this is true. There are ISP's or voip providers there (like Primus voip) which have no posts for 2 years or one or two posts this year.

Should they even be there?

The stated reason for the Ad-Hock forum is:
One day, one of these forums could grow to be a real forum

I don't think 25% of those forums have a hope in hell since some haven't had a post in 2 years.

Then there is Acanac who has had steady posts in their own forum since teksavvy got their own forum.

DSLr master-mods told them to run in their own forum and if they generate enough hype they may get one. So a few years later, now, they are still there. Yet Ebox who basically only started posting in their own forum the past 1.5 months (as opposed to Acanac who has been posting for a few years) expects to get their own forum before Acanac.

I would find that more than funny if that happened. Biased even. Perhaps even hateful and calculated.

Maybe after Ebox has 6 months or so of posts they will get upgraded to the Ad-Hock forum. Then after a few years maybe a forum, after Acanac gets theirs first since they asked for it like back in 2007 or 2008.

Now that would be fair. Anything else would be very questionable.

Even something as simple as "can you check the connection in your basement" borders on revealing personal information about them. This happened before one could even conclude that these small ISPs would generate a constant and overwhelming flow of messages on Can Broadband (has had been the case with that ISP I can't name)

Actually I found it pretty stupid that they (both Ebox owner and users) spammed everyone who posted here to instead post in the other cover forum. I always found that it brings less exposure and less people will be aware of them. After-all, not everyone hangs out here daily to know what's going on.

The people who spammed the Ebox threads here... well... Dumb.

But each to their own, I guess.

In regards to the "ISP you can not name" and in regards to what The furry blue guy said. I don't think the furry blue guy knows you were threatened by one of teksavvy's lawyers (if this was true) to keep your mouth shut and not participate in CRTC filings. Thus you never uttered their name again. So that is a bit of history for those who don't know, like the bug fuzzy blue guy.

So having explained this, one has to also realized the volume of posts teksavvy had. You are well aware of this and you are starting sh*t here for nothing by playing dumb and even thinking they should have a full forum.

TSI had their own cover forum, just like Ebox. However TSI's cover forum was actually used. Not just a tiny few posts. It was full.

In addition to the cover forum being full of posts daily, this forum was also filled daily with TSI posts.

So we had two forum completely over-run with TSI posts and any other ISP in this forum was drowned out (except when Rocky would threaten JP of Ebox, that was fun).

Then the mod's locked all the TSI topics and moved all topics to the newly created TSI forum. All we seen was locked topic after locked topic. IT WAS A LOT. Not a piddly 4 posts or so.

So JF, I was around for that as were you. Yet you seem to equate the piddly 4 posts the the dozens and dozens as justification for your remark.

So to quote you:

<said>said by jfmezei:</said>
This happened before one could even conclude that these small ISPs would generate a constant and overwhelming flow of messages on Can Broadband (has had been the case with that ISP I can't name)

It's not often I will call you out as fulla chit, but this happens to the case right here and right now. AND you know this.

However, if you want to state that most of the posts and reviews for "the ISP whom you cannot name" was BS and the owners asked people to create these posts and reviews in the forums to generate hype, that I will agree with since I was once of them asked.

Why not play fire with fire instead of making up things that weren't actually true? I mean come on, Even JP and Paul knew this was happening. Paul was in on the spam game as well.

Ths is the DSLr history, these were the fights by the 3 owners of certain ISP's going on in this very forum. And this is how it went down. You know all this, yet you chose to pretend it isn't so.

So now maybe people have a better understanding of what you were saying as well.
