Thank you, it's not just me... ewww. Every since this weekend it's been this way. Same thing for me and I can only get 1.5Mb from Century....

At least we can see the pricing

O how I wish I could get them speeds for those prices. I'd take the 80/40 for $130 just cause of more upload.. 100/20 don't make sense when 80/40 for $20 less but, if I was able to get these speeds. Bye Bye cable....

Only dreaming I know...

I'll do that one better. For a while, my upgrade page showed the super-high speeds too with a rock bottom price of $0.00 to boot. Insanely fast internet without a charge? Sounds good!

For more website stupidity see my post "Different prices on same page - am I missing something"

Hi there!

I'd definitely like to look into this for you. Would you mind emailing me with the account number of your service so I can check why it's showing this available speed?

TalkToUs@Centurylink.com

Thanks!

I signed up for this god awful service after the webpage said I qualified for 7Mbps. So I called them up and sure enough the worthless CL sales person said that yes I would get 7Mbps service. So I signed up, canceled Comcast. Nice how when the tech comes out and I connect at 3Mbps that he tells me I am lucky to even get that. This was in Dec. All through March I am averaging 1.2-1.5. Daytime is almost always around 900kbps. At night I can disconnect the line and get a whopping 2.5Mpbs that has nice latency of up to 500ms pinging our data center at XO just a few hops away.

Have not been able to connect the past 2 days over 1.5. Seriously, fark CL all to *****. Worst freaking service. Irony is that this is actually Qwest here, and when Qwest sold me DSL years back (2003~2008) I got exactly what I ordered and NEVER had a problem. This was a true 24/7 service. CL gives me a service that at best I can maintained a connection for an hour or two.

Face it, CL sucks. Hope they go out of business

If your stuck at 1.5 Mb call the internet support, it's in another country and they will unlock your account, when it disconnects and reconnects it will lock your account down to "optimize" the connection at the lower speed...

Your speeds sounded the same as mine, I was able to train up to about 4Mb or so, then it "optimized" to 1.6Mb and I started calling.. Got to a line tech around here and he basically told me I am not able to get anything more than 1.5Mb and slammed my account down and locked it to only 1.5Mb. My line can easily do 4Mb but now my account wont let me do anything but 1.5Mb..

I should have just called the Internet support and they can unlock your modem/account back to the speeds that's on your account...

It is the same old story.

First File a formal complaint with the FCC.
Secondly file a formal complaint with your state utilities commission. Don't forget to include that you did file a formal complaint with the FCC..

You will not get a fast upload from Qwest of the rest. They sit on that free bandwidth like it was a golden egg.

Interestingly, for our account it claims that centurylink high speed internet is not available in our area at any speed, yet we currently have 20 megabit speed (was hoping to go to at least 40). I get the idea the site may not be completely up to date versus what is actually correct information.
