Re: [NFL] PAYTON, WILLIAMS, LOOMIS SUSPENDED

Can it be safe to assume the saints weren't the only ones doing it? I like to see a good hit in a contact sport as this but not in this context

Bounty system with the whole point is putting players in the hospital or ending their careers? Yeah, they were the only ones... now yes, other teams had player donated kitties for various things but destroying a mans life was not among them. Typically it would be first turnover, first sack, etc.

Not true. Defensive coach Williams ran the same pgm at Redskins and Buffalo when he was there.

The Commish, in his interview, tacitly agreed to that but in the investigations there was no "smoking gun". The saints investigations revealed "tons" of evidence followed, finally, by admissions of guilt by the offending parties.

According to Warren Sapp the whistlower into the whole scandal was Jeremy Shockey. Good luck on him joining another team.

If Shockey was the snitch, then Sapp, as an NFL employee, just committed a federal crime by outing him. The whistleblower law would protect Shockey from actions of NFL employees to ID him to his fellow workers.

Shockey denied the accusation.

According to James Brown that is incorrect, and it was a former employee on the Saints staff who reported it. Mike Freeman of CBS Sports also reported that Sapp was incorrect in identifying Shockey as the source of information. Shockey's pretty pissed at Sapp.

Actually Sapp could get fired by the NFL Network, even if it were true. The Commish has stated that the identity of all whistle blowers will be secret. What made him open his yap.

More then likely it's a false statement made for drama. Sapp enjoys the spotlight.
