Eatmeingreek : I was helping a client who complained his computer started up too slowly. He had willingly installed Gator (he's a fairly sophisticated user.) So I turn on a few columns on the Windows Task Manager to see what was causing the disk to grind so heavily on logon. That damn gator thing was doing 500,000 disk reads on startup! The poor little laptop it was installed on just couldn't take it.

Avoid that stuff like the plague.
--
What the hell are we supposed to use, man?
