Re: Who has their Modem Return Box ?

I just ordered my free postage paid return box for their modem today! I'm so happy, can't wait to get an empty box in the mail

And it's here! Just got a notice from Canada Post that they dropped it off just now. I hope no one steals it from my doorstep!

What's the deal on that anyway? If Cogeco sends the box, and pays for the postage, and you take the box with your modem in it to Canada Post and post it, is that it? It's now considered returned? If it goes missing, is it on Cogeco? On Canada Post?

Im curious.

Mine (and the static IP doohickey) was picked up. I would have to settle for video of that whole transaction and the license plate of the vehicle as proof.

But what if that box goes missing? Then what?

I will be testing that very hypothesis likely next Monday at our local P.O.

I posted somewhere recently about what happened to me once before when B$ELL said that I owed them a modem, but I forget just where.

I got them to back down though.

Will post link if I can find my post.

EDIT : HERE it is : »Re: Cogeco cancelled, incompetence continues

And I was responding to YOU that day too.

Actually that WHOLE THREAD is interesting, given the topic of the current one, so : »Cogeco cancelled, incompetence continues

They send you a Canada Post expresspost label in the box. Once you send it, they get a notice from Canada Post that the item was shipped. If it's all there, no matter the condition, you should be absolved from any responsibility. That's why they're using expresspost, it's insured.

As was B$ELL, so B$ELL had even less reason to hassle me that time than I stated in my linked post above.

Just a note, the box was delivered signature, which I got to verify the signature online. So if it was not delivered properly, not my fault. I didn't even tape the box up.

MVM,

If it shows up as an empty box who do you think they'll come after?

Not my problem. They should've provided tape.

MVM,

That's not how shipping works and just because you're angry doesn't make the rules any different for you than any other RMA

If it arrives empty or damaged to their door you can be held responsible. All companies work this way not just Cogeco.

Rogers and Bell provide tape with their return boxes.

I don't really care anyways, they can bill me for it. I'll never pay.

I have a modem return box coming my way from Cogeco. I am now on Start.ca and am much happier.
