kwbelt1 posted : My connection on the 23rd was up all day with no problems at all. Even with the tornados happening. The 22nd when nearly the whole state was down I of course did not have connection.
Speed test showed my location as IA for about 3 months and never had any problems with the speed tests. Its showing correctly now with a test to Carmel, IN at 28.95 down and 1.64 up.

ful_throttle posted : I understand that different servers will give different results. The weird thing is that my location changed by several hundred miles over the last couple of days; from a correct location of Southern Illinois to an incorrect location of central Iowa, and back to southern Illinois this morning.

My speeds are back to normal, so whatever the issue was on the 22nd that had changed my modem settings, a reset of the modem brought in the correct settings for me.

Thanks again.

ful_throttle posted : So most of yesterday(23rd) my internet connection (Mediacom) was down (Southern Illinois). No biggie as my internet service has been awesome for several years. I tried calling the support number last night and only got a recording saying they are "too busy" and to call back later.

Today the internet is back on, but my download speeds will not go over 1 meg down. Does anyone have any info. as to why this might be? There was a mediacom vehicle working on the lines outside my house for a few hours when I got home today, he worked at two different poles, then went to my neighbor's house for around an hour or so. I will call tomorrow, but just thought I would ask here tonight.
Thanks for any info.

Mike
