Will not boot in any of the SafeModes, nor can I boot to last known good configruation.
The suggestions I found to fix involved actually getting to a prompt (chkdsk /f), which I cannot do. Or booting to recovery console, but alas I don't have a windows cd)*
I did burn a knoppix iso and was able recover her data. The hard drive appears to be fine. I would like, however, to get Windows restored.
I have an i386 folder on another machine that I could copy over. A) would that help? B) can I run that while running under Linux?
Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks.
*My son gave this computer to his sister after her apartment burned and destroyed her old computer. So, no cds. And I am visiting from out of the country and didn't bring mine with me. Just in case you wanted to know. ) |

arggemDone With D.U.N.Premium join:2002-09-21 Argentina | reply to arggem Looks promising! But how do I run the .exe while running Linux? The only way I have to use this machine right now is with a Knoppix live CD.
Or am I missing something? |

Or am I missing something? Create a bootable cd or usb thumbdrive with the exe on it? |

is there a better link? Or a better procedure?
Thanks!! |
