| I think my wife would divorce me if I took gator off her box.... Would love a substitute that does the same thing, without the popups and other nasties gator has....
KD, have you tried keywallet or roboform? I may give them a whirl. Roboform can import your gator data, a big plus for me!

a good alternative that contains no spyware or nay nasties like that is roboform. I found out about it when i was watching the screen savers and heard about scumware.com. Just a thought. |

 | reply to mechlayn There IS an altenative called RoboForm and it works fine for me with no popups or ads. You can visit their home site at »www.roboform.com/ and decide for yourself. |

RawhideBlue Balls join:2002-02-18 The Moon | reply to koam I wonder, if Gator goes bankrupt or sells out if the user info/usernames and passwords will be considered an asset? I personally refuse to use a program like that. Most places offer to remember your user info anyways and offer you a COOKIE to hold till your next visit. Its bad enough I have to have cookies on my computer. I think I would rather write everything down on paper next to me on my desk, rather than use a program like that. Im not the fastest typer in the world but I can type fairly fast and would rather type the information out in the forms. I trust the people I let in my house that might happen to see my user names and stuff. I also have an opportunity to put that information away before a friend or individual comes into my computer area. I never trust people I let in my computer from the internet(very few exceptions of course) except for maybe DSLR. |

| I like the cookies that are useful to me. I like convenience. I disallow 3rd-party cookies, as they have no value to me.
Many sites (my banks, credit cards, utilities, for example) require a login every day (or every 15 mins if they have security timeouts).
I think the passwords that I save with Gator are stored locally on my hard drive, not saved by Gator on their server.
If anyone has any facts on this (not suppositions about what they COULD do if they wanted to)...I'd like to know. -- I dumped Verizon DSL and got OOL. Smartest thing I ever did...Dude, you're gettin' a Dell. |
