| I know I'm responding to an old post, but I recently purchased a MagicJack Plus and ported my land line over. I rarely used my land line (mostly use my cell phone these days) but I had my land line number for 17 years and didn't want to lose it.
I was paying $31 a month just to keep the land line active. After porting over to MJ Plus, I'm getting more features than I had and the annual fee is about the same as what I was paying monthly.
I've called friends and they tell me they can hear better than when I call them with my cell phone so I haven't had any issues yet.
Porting took a total of 4 days (including weekend) and although I haven't received an official email from MJ saying porting is complete, I did call my previous provider (Verizon) and asked the status of my line, they said it was cancelled automatically when the number ported.
So, even with the price increase, I think MJ Plus is an excellent deal. |
