[TV] BH Cisco digital box and TIVOI am extremely frustrated over recording the BH logo via TIVO.
Is there anyway to disable the screensaver function of the cable box. I use TIVO to change channel and record shows. This only happens when the last show recored was in the digital channels and the next show is one the same, say 4 hours later.
I currently have TIVO set to change channel twice a day (6am - 5pm) to eliminate some of the stress but I shouldn't have to have TIVO change channel every two hours.
Any help would be appreciated or should I just take the box back and ask for a different brand? |

Why not swap your box out for a cable card and tuning adapter? |

older box, doesn't take cable cards.. Are Scientific Atlantic boxes still viable? |

It won't matter because the timeout happens on all boxes after 2 hrs or so. |

It's not a screen saver. You are tuning to an SDV channel and after a period of time it confirms whether or not you are still watching that stream and if not it shuts it down. |

my problem is that I am not watching it. The tv might not come on for a week but I am trying to TIVO shows to watch at my convenience. However the same SDV channel might be recorded several hours apart. Is there a work around? |

Yes...program your TiVo to turn the box on and off with each recording. That should resolve the issue for almost all programs. |

While I did not see a specific setting to do this either via TIVO or through the converter settings, I set up TIVO to record "TIVO suggests" which should change the channel frequently throughout the day. |

That should do it as well....just something to make the box think someone is watching it. |
