Re: Advanced package in Cogeco areassaid by Last Parade:....All HTTP navigation leads to "Cogeco Modem Assignment Environment".... aka the GOUGEco Walled Garden Funny that it did it in two steps (first the front part of the number v301 to v303, and later the back part 2391... to 2392...), but the final result seems to match what is in my active Cogeco modem. This is encouraging. |

I would love to buy from ebay but isn't that nearly $100 after shipping for a used one. |

Not when you ship it to the UPS depot in Buffalo and pick it up yourself. |

said by Mort :Thanks Rocca. As for the modem issue, what if I just RENT a D2 for now and then decide to upgrade to a D3 and/or higher package?
Can I just exchange the D2 for the D3? That sounds much like what I have arranged, though the 30+ Mb plans are news to me, if true. For any folks who prefer an ASAP install date on a Cogeco feed, and do not mind swapping modems later, please read this post : » Re: Just Signed Off |

I think if I ever do sign up with Start, i'll wait for the DCM475 to get approved. |

Sorry. Not yet, will post here as soon as there is an update. |

In that case, is there any news on Cogeco approving another D3 modem (which presumably is the holdup for new plans beyond 16/1)? Or are they still dragging their feet to keep Start away from their highest revenue customers? Err, I mean of course, are they still taking the minimum time necessary to do extensive technical and marketing testing while ensuring maximum network reliability and throughput in this age of highly competitive ISP markets with challenging asymmetric network infrastructure and buildout synergies? |

The issue isn't the modems at this point, the DPC3000 works great. It's the unavailability of the 20/1.5 profile for TPIA. We're working on it... |

I concur that it works great (I'm using one, and happy with it), but aren't they in short supply, or have you found a hidden cache somewhere? |

I think we'll be okay for the near future, have other things in the works for long-term. |
