Re: [NCAA-B] NCAA tournament action

You can't say that just because Butler lost, that small schools have no chance.

Sure I can say it. And I did.
You're right, though. As long as the Butlers and VCUs of the world get themselves into the Final Four once in a while, there's always the possibility a school like that could win out sometime.

Yet it's still more or less a myth. David might retain the potential to topple Goliath, and in the early rounds of the NCAA basketball tourney sometimes does. Doesn't change the fact that the vast majority of the time it's the Dukes and Kentuckys and North Carolinas of the world who end up wearing the crown.

The tournament itself is also now a different animal than it was when N.C. State was defeating Houston, or Marquette or UTEP were playing for the championship.

College sports is not a level playing field, so to speak.
NCAA honchos might like to pretend that it is and promote their tourney as such, but it isn't.
