Thought some folks might find this interesting: local live TV for $12.00-$15.00/mo via Roku 2, WD TV Live and WD TV Live Hub »skittertv.com/register/index.php

(in addition to a software media player version that might not yet be available publicly »www.skitter.tv/html/Media_Player.html)

According to this article it's available now in the Portland, OR area (confirmed available for my zip code) and will be available in additional markets by the end of the quarter with the possibility of DVR functionality coming as well.

But this is about more than just convenience: A virtual operator that has access to basic broadcast channels also has a huge potential for disruption, because it could become a launchpad for new live television networks that aren’t exclusively tied to cable.

It would get real interesting if a day's shows were available on-demand.

Netflix has created their own series called Lilyhammer with 8 episodes available. I've not been too tempted to check it out so far.

OnDemand TV shows and original Movie style content will likely begin to catch on. Then like the Saturday Comics in a paper, they could lead to Syndication Publishing.
