There's no necessary cable bill to pay, no piped in programming to watch, etc. What I mean by TV is the programming sent from a sender to a receiver. When the television is connected to the internet, it's not TV anymore, it's the internet, or an intranet, or whatever, accessed through a device called a television.
Why is everyone saying a TV is one way? That is not true anymore.
