Recently dumped Wave Phone due to constant dropped calls and poor internet / phone performance for which four tech visits were unable to correct all began happening right after they installed some new hardware so I stumbled across the Verizon Home Connect which connects your land line onto Verizons cell network, just plug your phone into the box and plug in power (has 36 hour battery backup which is good for power outage prone area's like mine) and go.
You get local and US long distance for $19.95 (14 day trial, two year contract).
Nice to have much more reliability (power outage wise and no need for internet connection) with more features for less!
