Can I buy a wireless gateway for Astound?

Instead of paying Astound (my cable and internet provider) the monthly lease fee for the Modem and Wireless router, can I buy a wireless gateway from a place like BestBuy? Anyone know if Astound allows that?

When I lived in Concord back in 05' I had astound and used my personal purchased modem with them with no issues.
