| Cogeco Land - Modem synced with Start! I woke up this morning and put on a pot of coffee. I thought I might just go plug in the modem I received in the mail from Start yesterday. After plugging it in, it synced fairly fast and I said to myself "What a wonderful World!". Actually I thought it can't be this easy, but it was. First bit of speed tests seem to be all over the place. I was disappointed that I was getting about 14 Mbit down and just over 1 Mbit up. Then I remembered I didn't get a docsis 3 modem I have a 2 so I should only be seeing about the 16Mbit and 14 out of 16 is not too bad. My ping is a little higher then I like, but I am okay with it.


I did a trace route to www.dslreports.com and this is what it looks like. This doesn't look nice. I stopped it after 19 hops.

Thanks for all the help, From what I have seen I can't get over 14 Mbits.
Here are the stats's from the modem.

When I get a docsis 3.0 modem, or the docsis 2.0 modem's get approved for the higher profile, will I be moved up to the 20M profile?
Either way 20 or 16, I won't complain, I am happy with everything so far. Really just a question how things will work!. |

All the original people will get the D3 modems - we had to use the D2's simply because we had to get orders in with mac addresses. We'll be contacting those on the pre-list in the next week approximately to arrange swaps. |
