[CATV] No Audio on second TV

Whole House Trio service with a Cisco Explorer HDTV 8642HDC. When the Sony Bravia TV connected via HDMI is turned off and the video recorder is still on, there is no audio on the cable out connection.

what do you mean by second tv? are you sure audio is passed by other ports when HDMI is used?

Sounds like CEC. If you turn off the TV connected via HDMI, it will typically turn off the AV receiver.

Are we talking HDMI and component on the same receiver? if so its a known issue[not really an issue but a function of HDCP]

The Cisco Explorer HDTV 8642HDC connects via HDMI to one tv and the cable out port connects to another tv. When both tvs are on, there is audio on both. Turning off the tv connected to the HDMI port disables the audio on the tv connected to the cable out port.
