[request] AT&T forums.... Time to combine?

With the networks slowly becoming IP based networks they pretty much are going to be the same in all the regions. As I see some forums such as (At&t northeast for example) are dead quiet forums.

I know this idea was hard to accept the first time around, and for the majority of UVerse users they pretty much post in the Uverse forum (internet only, TV only, or any variation there of).

Pretty much except for some small pockets in ameritech, the networks are pretty much the same. The same DSL you buy in saint louis, mo you can get in granite city, IL, or sacremento, ca, or Houston, tx.

I am thinking it would probably be a good time to combine them. I think even some of the older DSL forums are not even modded full time anymore.

*sign* - it's sad to see the state of the AT&T forums now compared to just a few years ago. Maybe putting it all under one roof would bring some people around again.

The old AT&T forums are relics of a past era.

I think it would. The bellsouth forum is still quite active by most. True, at the moment they have some different architecture and such, but that will change over time

as far as active I am thinking it runs about like this

• bellsouth
• AT&T west
• at&t midwest
• At&t southwest
• at&t snet
• at&t dsl forum/yahoo forum

There are even people I think that are in other regions I know have cross posted in other at&t forums only because they hope to get help, or they nail all the busy forums hoping to find a byte for help.

one live forum would be much easier to watch than 4-5 dead ones. Considering how active the uverse forum is, it's success is sheer combination based.

but we need to also combine all the FAQs if this is done. i work all over the country and frequently browse the various FAQS for the different networks when i am having issues. some have info on 1 particular modem, while others may not even mention that style. and it seems i never know what the tech left until i get on site.

I think this is a good idea. When people come to the site looking for an AT&T forum they're faced with deciding which of 5 regions to post in if they have an non-Uverse question or problem. I think that means missing out on a chance to help some people.

If not, should there be "Time Warner-Midwest", "Time Warner-California", "Comcast-?", "Comcast-?", and so on ?
