[CATV] HD Pixelation - HD channels seriously compressed?

Has anyone else noticed all COX HD channels seem to be more and more compressed nowadays? If you compare a channels SD equivalent, to an average consumer, it looks almost the same.

Pixelation/Macroblocking on HD channels occurs big time during scene transitions and high motion scenes. This is especially noticable on my 52' HDTV @1080i. Not so much on my 32' HDTV @720p.

I wasn't always this way either. I recall the early days when HD was really HD and not just upscaled looking SD. We are still on MPEG2 here in SoCal, so this isn't an MPEG4 thing.

Seems like something changed over the last year or so.

Just curious if others have noticed this.
